Fluid retention prevention?

Like many women I have a tendency to retain fluid at certain times. I have a very important event coming up in a few weeks time and I need to look my best. As you can imagine, I want to keep fluid retention to an absolute minimum.

My plan is to use every single remedy I can think of in an effort to combat the problem and I was wondering…

… should I use these remedies for a whole week in advance of my important event, or for just a few days before? Which would be most effective?

Spider is correct. By not taking in sufficient fluid your body tries to retain every drop already in there. Drinking adequate fluid will prevent water retention.
This doesn’t mean you should be guzzling bottles of water by the dozen, just making sure you are fully hydrated and choosing drinks with a lower sugar/caffeine/alcohol content as the MAIN source of fluid.
