are you supposed to wear your engagement ring all the time? i take mine off at night due to fluid retention.?
My fingers swell up at night, and the ring gets tight, so I take it off when I go to bed, and put it back on in the morning. The reason Im asking is that people I know have worn rings for years,(usually wedding rings) and never take them off, and cant even get them off if they want to.

Perfectly fine unless you allow strange, horny men to wander through you and your husbands bedroom at night.

I actually dont wear my wedding ring anymore (been married for over 9 years) due to my fingers change in size and rings bother me. Now when I was engaged I wore it all the time except at night or doing dirty work.

I stopped wearing my engagement ring because the crystal was so big that people kept on asking if it was real.

Talk to your partner about it and come to a conclusion with him about when you should wear it.

It’s a personal choice. There is nothing wrong with removing it at night, especially if you have a physical reason. The bottom line is – as long as no one is being deceived, it’s okay to remove it anytime you want, for any reason you want. This could include washing dishes, doing manual labor that makes it dangerous to wear jewelry, undergoing surgery, taking a shower, gaining weight due to pregnancy and it doesn’t fit for a few months, having the jeweler check the prong settings or clean it, etc.

You could lose your finger it the ring cuts off circulation as a result of swelling. By all means, take it off whenever you want to.

i don’t think there’s anything wrong with taking off your engagement ring at night or anytime for that matter. but then again, there are other people who are superstitious about lots of stuff including taking off your engagement ring or wedding ring at times. however, these (rings) are but physical symbols of your solemn commitment to your significant other and taking them off does not necessarily mean the other way around unless of course you choose to really call the whole thing off. what is important is what’s really in your mind and in your heart…

Nothing wrong with taking it off. Just be sure it is put in a safe place.

I havent worn mine in years because my youngest son lost it for a long time and when we finally did find it my fingers were too swollen… so i wear my wedding ring and this past christmas my hubby gave me a past present and future ring and i wear that in place of my engagement ring… I take them off to shower and to wash dishes and stuff and sometimes i forget to put them back on and my boys will find them and hand them to me … it doesnt seem to bother my hubby he says rings or no rings he trust me with all of his heart and soul, as i do him …

A lot of people remove all jewelry at bedtime. I never go to bed wearing rings or earrings. There is nothing wrong with taking it off at night.
